Mt Tecumseh - Round 2 SSW48 Finish

Mt Tecumseh trail

March 20, 2010

This was it - the last hike of the 2009/2010 Winter season, and the completion of my goal to hike all 48 of the NH 4000 footers twice in a single Winter season. Tecumseh was picked for the last peak since Winter officially ended at 1:32 PM. A short hike with a few friends, followed by a party back at Tarry Ho would mark the end of a 3 month journey. In the end I summitted 102 peaks, and hiked 59 day for @ 650 miles. All but 5 of the hikes were with others - Geri being with me on 39 of the peaks.

Joining Geri and I on todays hike was Tom Caldwell who was the instigator for my first round, and Justin Fueller who completed his SSW48 a few days earlier. Just after we summitted we were suprised by Mark and Valerie who joined us. Mark also completed his SSW48 earlier in the week.

Photos and we were off for the car and to Lincoln for some Mexican food to celebrate. At 1:32 we raised our glasses and toasted - the end of Winter and the start of Spring. Back at Tarry Ho a small group gathered for more food, beverages, stories of the great Winter we had all had, and later a fire.

A wonderful experience. One that I could not have done without all of Geri's love, support, and encouragement.
