It always seems like the drive time to/from the start of this hike is longer than the hike. Today was no differant. It took close to 2 hours from Twin Mountain - okay, so maybe I took a wrong turn :>

Soft snow, warm weather, t-shirts and shorts were the conditions for today. We quickly donned snowshoes and used them until the end of the day. The ledges still had snow but were showing signs of loosing it in places. The one thing that really stood out today was the massive amount of blowdowns and trees that were toppled over, roots and all. The last storm had not been kind to this area.

After reaching the summits we jogged much of the way down the trail back to our cars. Made for a quick descent and easy footing with the soft snow.

Directions to Trailhead
From exit 24 on Rte 93, follow Rte 113 East to Rte 113A. Turn left on Ferncroft Rd at Wonalancet Village.
