Isolation

Trails:Rocky Branch, Engine Hill Bushwhack, Davis Path

February 10, 2010

Joined up with Tom and BobC for a hike to Isolation. Snow flurries in the morning with the sun trying hard, but not quite succeding to break through in the afternoon.

Trail was hard packed allowing us to use Microspikes until we reached the start of the Engine Hill Bushwhack where we switched over to snowshoes. With very limited views the highlight of the day was feeding the Grey Jays on Isolation.

Directions to Trailhead
From the intersection of Rte 16 and 302 in Glan, head north on Rte 16 @ 5 miles north of Jackson. Parking for Rocky Branch trailhead is on the left in a signed lot.
