A Trip to Salem MA

with Beth & Julie

September 28, 2010

Beth and Julie accompianied a friend to her Boston Trade Show, so we all got together in Salem MA to tour the town and learn the history of witches there. One thing we learned was that only 20 witches were killed in MA, and none by burning. 19 were hung and one was killed by a tourture called pressing.

The day started out as an adventure for all of us. Beth and Julie were going to take the ferry from Long Wharf to Salem, but arrived to find it cancelled due to 6-8 foot seas :< After a quick phone call to us and a check of schedules they made their way over to North Station (will a fewws stops for directions along the way :>) and bought tickets for the train to Salem. We were having our own fun, stuck in rush hour traffic on a rainy Monday morning.

We beat them to Salem with enough time to grab a bite to eat before picking them up at the train station. Then we were off to explore the town! House of the Seven Gables, the Witch Museum, the Waterfront, a couple of bars, and of course the many gift shops. We had a fun day and can't wait for the next visit!
